By “event” I am referring to the lifecycle of the problem-solving group – from the moment it was formed (self-organized), through swarming over an issue, to the group dissolution – whether it is because the issue was resolved, or someone else assumed ownership.
I love “swarms” and “collaborative problem solving.”
As for “spontaneous,” that suggests to me that they aren’t planned and facilitated. Is “self-organizing” to Oxton-y? (Sorry, Greg.)
And as for “event,” that suggests that they happen at a point in time. Whereas I’m thinking that the idea swarm emerges around an “incident,” and may persist through several “incidents” that may be related to an underlying “problem,” and that they don’t decay until that problem is fully brought to closure.
Unless, of course, you’re really talking about events, in which case, right on!
